Master of Research (Business and Economics)

Domestic students:

• Standard Entry Requirements
• The Master of Research (MRes) is Macquarie University's two year (equivalent full-time) research training pathway program to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master of Philosophy (MPhil).
• The Master of Research equips students with intensive research preparation before beginning doctoral study. The minimum requirement for admission to an MRes degree is:
• Bachelor or higher award from a recognised institution
• Minimum overall GPA of 4.38 on a 7 point scale and GPA of 5.25 at 300 level
• A research proposal (a short paragraph is sufficient).
• A high level of English language proficiency.
• Some disciplines may have additional entry requirements such as a portfolio of work or a higher level of performance in previous study. Please refer to the Additional Entry Requirements to Master of Research courses for more information.
• Recognition of Prior Learning
• You may be eligible for admission directly into the second year of the Master of Research if:
• You hold an honours degree or,
• A masters degree
• You may apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL) up to 80 credit points. If you are seeking direct entry into Year 2 of the program with RPL, please select the MRes course on your application. You will be required to provide a more detailed research proposal (approximately 1 page describing your proposed project).

International students:

• IELTS (Academic) overall band 6.5 with minimum sub-scores: listening 6, reading 6, writing 6, speaking 6, or an approved equivalent
• CRICOS-registered course - a valid student visa is required to study on campus
