Course Overview
The Master of Research is a postgraduate research training course. In this course you will focus on a specific research project and deliver a thesis on your area of expertise.
The Master of Research is awarded for the successful completion of a one-year (80 credit point) full-time post-graduate research training course, or part-time equivalent, focused on a major research project. Students submit a thesis with a maximum length of 20,000 words for assessment by a panel of examiners external to the University who are of national or international standing. Successful completion demonstrates that a student has an in-depth understanding of a discipline or inter-disciplinary area, and has the skills to complete a research project. The degree is undertaken in English. To gain admission, students must normally have completed a Graduate Diploma of Research from Macquarie University, or a minimum AQF 8 degree with an overall weighted average mark of 65 and greater than 70 in their final year of study.
