Yes. The Master of Research equips students with rich research skills, providing a direct pathway to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) qualification. You will graduate with the knowledge, skills and experience required to enter a PhD program.
The degree combines coursework with a research project. The first part of your studies is designed to help you develop a broad base of research skills, exploring key methodologies and approaches to research, including topics such as methods, communication and engagement. In the remainder of your studies, you'll plan, design and complete your own independent research project on a topic of interest and relevance to your field, under the guidance of an experienced and supportive research supervisor.
To be eligible for admission, you need to have completed either a 3-year Bachelor degree (AQF level 7) with a WAM of ≥65 or a seven-point GPA of 5.0 or higher; a 4-year Bachelor (Honours) degree (AQF level 8) with a WAM of ≥65 or a seven-point GPA of 5.0 or higher; or a Graduate Certificate (AQF level 8) in research training with an overall WAM of ≥65 or a seven-point GPA of 5.0 or higher. You must also demonstrate that your prior qualifications are in a discipline relevant to the proposed area of research, and admission is conditional on the availability of a suitable supervisory panel.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
