Master of Research (Psychology)

This course is only available to current Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) students at Curtin, and only applicants who achieve a final Honours grade of 2A or above are eligible.

The course duration is one to two years of full-time or equivalent part-time study, with a standard full-time duration of two years.

Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens who are successful applicants of a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program are eligible for a tuition fee exemption under the Australian Government's Research Training Program (RTP), covering up to two years for Master of Philosophy programs.

Students will learn to demonstrate mastery of theoretical knowledge and reflect critically on its application; investigate, analyse and synthesise complex information; generate and evaluate complex ideas at an abstract level; design, use and evaluate research methods; communicate and present a coherent argument; and design, evaluate, implement, analyse, theorise and disseminate research that makes an original contribution to knowledge.

The Master of Research (Psychology) is offered at Curtin Perth, with on-campus delivery available in both Research Term 1 and Research Term 2 in 2026.
