Minimum Entry Requirements (International students), 2 entry-point structure: Entry level 1 (96 points, 2 years full-time/4 years part-time) — an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with specific topic knowledge per specialisation and at least 65% (high credit) average. For Astrophysics: foundation knowledge in multivariable/vector calculus, differential equations, linear algebra and matrices, plus classical mechanics and astronomy/astrophysics background. For Atmospheric Science: a minor in atmospheric science, oceanography, mathematics, physics or related field including differential calculus. For Earth Science: a minor in earth science, environmental science, or related discipline. For Physics: foundational multivariable/vector calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, classical mechanics, field theory (relativity, classical electrodynamics), and upper-level undergraduate quantum mechanics. Entry level 2 (48 points, 1 year full-time/2 years part-time) — an Australian bachelor degree with at least a major and specific topic knowledge in the relevant specialisation. English entry requirements (Level A): IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall (Listening 6.0, Reading 6.0, Writing 6.0, Speaking 6.0) or PTE (Academic) 58 overall (Listening 50, Reading 50, Speaking 50, Writing 50) or TOEFL iBT 79 overall (0-120 scale: Reading 13, Listening 12, Speaking 18, Writing 21).

The course prepares graduates for professional employment or further PhD studies, deepening knowledge and skills in a chosen specialisation (Astrophysics, Atmospheric science, Earth science, or Physics) through advanced coursework combined with a research project or industry application, supporting careers in scientific research, academia, and specialist technical roles in industry or government.
