About This Course

This program can be taken in a number of majors: Public Health Nutrition, Food Science, Greenhouse Horticulture, Agriculture, or Sustainable Water Futures. Depending on the major chosen, you may find employment at a senior level in a wide range of destinations, including federal, state and local government bodies, universities, research organisations, food and agriculture industries, private companies, health facilities, science-based industries, or private consultancies. The program builds on your professional experience and/or prior qualifications to develop advanced expertise and critical understanding in science and in your particular discipline. You will develop research and project design skills and complete a capstone subject that is designed to integrate the various themes that flow throughout the program. You may be required to travel to different campuses depending on your specialisation. Study and save: Discounted student fees are available through Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) when undertaking this course in 2026. Offered as a Masters Degree qualification of 160 credit points, it is normally completed in 2 years full-time and 4 years part-time. It is delivered at Western Sydney University's Parramatta South and Hawkesbury campuses.

General Requirements

Tertiary Education: Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree, or higher, in natural or physical science, medical science, environmental studies, agriculture, horticulture, food science, food technology, nutrition or dietetics.
