Master of Science (Agriculture and Food Security)

Students can choose to major in either Agricultural Systems or Food Security. In your first year you will choose one of these majors, and in your second year you will undertake a research project relating to your chosen major.

You must meet Curtin's English language requirements. For IELTS Academic, you need an overall band score of 6.0, with minimum scores of 6.0 in each of the Writing, Speaking, Reading, and Listening components. Other accepted English tests and qualifications may also be considered.

The 2026 domestic fee-paying first-year indicative fee is $29,748, based on a first-year full-time study load of 200 credit points. This is a domestic fee-paying (DFP) place, meaning it is not Commonwealth supported. Domestic fee-paying students may be eligible for FEE-HELP assistance. Fees may vary depending on the units chosen and do not include administrative, incidental fees, or textbook costs.

Graduates can pursue careers as Agronomists, Agricultural consultants, Food security analysts, and Sustainable agricultural advisors. You'll also be ready to engage with government or NGOs to give input on policies that help drive innovation in farming and agriculture to improve both food accessibility and environmental conservation.
