The Master of Science (Mathematics and Statistics) (MC-SCIMAT) takes expertise in mathematics and statistics to an advanced level through a coursework masters degree including a major research project, providing excellent preparation for a specialist workforce role or graduate research. Students choose one of five specialisation areas: Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Biology, Operations Research and Industrial Optimisation, Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Stochastic Processes, or Mathematical Physics and Physical Combinatorics, alongside compulsory subjects and electives from a broad range of advanced subjects in their specialty or others, including physics, computer science or bioinformatics. An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a directly related discipline with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65% (or equivalent) in the best 50 points of appropriate discipline studies at third year
Appropriate disciplines include Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Physics (or equivalents)
English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 with no band less than 6.0, or equivalent approved test score
