About This Course

Course overview This course will equip you with the understanding, knowledge and skills needed to work as a project manager in a variety of industries. You'll learn the advanced project management techniques to facilitate project success. Project management is a distinct professional discipline with its own body of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques. It involves managing a project from inception to completion and the attainment of the project’s objectives. If you have recently graduated or not yet gained experience in the field, the two-year Master of Project Management course will introduce you to the foundations of the discipline and allow you to develop your skills in complementary areas outside of project management. Students who complete a master degree to a high standard can apply for doctoral-level studies. Entry Requirements

General Requirements
Entry requirements Applicants for a Master Degree (Coursework) are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards. Subject to the duration of the course applicants usually require a Bachelor Degree or equivalent (and may require relevant work experience), Bachelor Honours Degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma. Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met. Applicants require a bachelor degree; or a Graduate Certificate in Project Management or a Graduate Diploma in Project Management . Students entering with a Graduate Diploma in Project Management must have completed PRJM6006 Project Management Research 1 in Semester 2 in order to be eligible for the Research Stream. Students entering with the Graduate Diploma in Project Management who have completed PRJM6008 Project Quality Management are eligible for the Professional Stream. Course-specific requirements You’ll also need to meet any specific requirements to be eligible to apply for this course. English requirements You must meet Curtin’s English language requirements for this course. The English language requirement for this course is outlined in the IELTS table below. If you’ve completed a different English test or qualification, you may be able to use it to meet this requirement. In this course, you will learn the processes and techniques associated with project management, including cost, time, quality, risk, communication, human resources and procurement management. You'll explore the application of quality management to projects including planning, assurance, certification, audits, control, training, benchmarking and best practice. You'll also be trained in leadership, team management and motivation. The master degree is divided into a professional stream and a research stream.
