Yes. This is an AASW-accredited qualification. It is an entry qualification into the social work profession and has been determined to meet the Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards. As a graduate, you will be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Field placements in the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) are undertaken in the second semester of each year and provide students with direct and indirect practice opportunities within a host organisation. Each placement requires the completion of 500 hours, for a total of 1,000 hours across the two years of the course.
The course uses a blend of online and face to face learning opportunities, with students required to attend 20 days of on-campus workshop and skill development training across the length of the course. The course is available at the Casuarina campus and online, with intakes in both Semester 1 and Semester 2.

A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 160 credit points as detailed in the course structure. The course comprises 11 core units, including two 30 credit point field education units and one 20 credit point unit, with all other units valued at 10 credit points each.
