About This Course

The Master of Social Work (Graduate Entry) at Flinders University is designed for graduates from other disciplines who wish to qualify as professional social workers in Australia. Applicants must hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification
Must have completed at least one year of full-time equivalent study in Social and Behavioural Sciences
Social and behavioural sciences are defined (per AASW/ASWEAS) as topics focusing on Psychology and Human Development and the relationship between individuals and society
Acceptable disciplines include (but are not limited to): Anthropology, Community Development, Counselling, Criminology, Geography (human/social focus), Indigenous Studies, International Relations, Philosophy, Political Sciences, Psychological Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Nursing and post-graduate nursing studies, Educational Sociology, Social Policy, Mental Health and Wellbeing
Degrees such as Archaeology, Economics, Accountancy, Commerce, Film Making and Media Studies do NOT satisfy the prerequisite entry requirements
Students unable to meet entry requirements must enrol in the Graduate Certificate in Society and the Individual as a pathway into the Master of Social Work
International students must meet English Language Requirements
Students are required by the AASW to attend at least 20 days on campus throughout their course (applies to both domestic and overseas students)
At least one block of at least five days face-to-face study must be completed prior to the first placement
