Yes, the Master of Speech Pathology has received full accreditation by Speech Pathology Australia.
WIL is an integral part of the course, giving students an invaluable opportunity to gain practical experience through clinical placements. Students will participate in various experiential learning simulations before undertaking any placement activities, and will have access to industry trainers and mentors throughout the entire process. Clinical placements take place at numerous health and educational facilities such as the UC Health Precinct and UC Public Hospital, as well as various regional and remote locations around Australia. Clinical placements are undertaken on a full-time basis (i.e. 4 days per week) and participation and completion of each WIL placement will contribute to overall assessment.
Yes, prior to undertaking any clinical placement, students will be required to: undertake a National Police Check, obtain a Working with Vulnerable People registration, provide their immunisation history, and have a qualification in First Aid including CPR.
There are non-standard English language requirements for this course. To be eligible you must have an overall IELTS Academic score (or equivalent) of 8.0, with no band score below 8.0. For alternate/equivalent ways of meeting the English requirements, you can view the English Proficiency Requirements document on the university website.
Applications from domestic applicants open annually on 1st October in the year prior to commencement and close on 30 November of the same year. Applications from international applicants open annually on 1st August in the year prior to commencement and close on 30th September of the same year. Applications may close earlier than the stated dates if all places are filled.
