You will complete a minimum of 80 days of professional experience in prior to school and primary school settings. The professional experience units must be undertaken in the following sequence: EPE501, EPE502, EPE635. You must provide proof that you have met all university and State/Territory pre-placement requirements before commencing professional placements.
Yes. This course has been accredited through the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory (TRB NT) and with the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). It is consistent with the standards established by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL). Upon graduating, you will be recognised as an Early Childhood Teacher by ACECQA and will be eligible to register as a teacher across all Australian State and Territory jurisdictions, subject to meeting other eligibility criteria such as the National Literacy and Numeracy test, English proficiency and suitability to teach.
You need to have successfully completed a recognised bachelor degree or equivalent international qualification with at least one-year equivalent full-time study in an area relevant to primary curriculum, such as art, music, technologies, English, health and physical education, mathematics, science or humanities and social sciences (e.g. history and geography). You will also need a Working with Children Check before commencing practical placements and may need a National Police Clearance depending on your jurisdiction.
The annual tuition fee for full-time international students in 2026 is AUD $32,760.00, which equates to $4,095.00 per 10 credit point unit (0.125 EFTSL). These fees are subject to increases annually, effective at the start of each calendar year. CDU also offers a number of scholarships to international students to assist with the cost of study. Domestic students may be eligible for Commonwealth Supported Places if they meet the relevant residency requirements.
