Common Questions
The SCEI-HE Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary) is currently pending accreditation approval from the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). It is listed as 'Coming Soon' and prospective students are encouraged to register their interest while the approval process is underway.
The course can be completed in 2 years full time or 4 years part time, and includes a work placement component totalling 95 days of Professional Practice that is compulsory and embedded throughout the course.
The Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary) is offered on campus at two locations: Melbourne and Adelaide.
Graduates may work as early childhood teachers in long day care, kindergartens, preschools, and early learning centres; as primary teachers (Foundation–Year 6) in government, Catholic, independent, and private schools; as educational leaders, lead educators, or coordinators in early childhood services; or as specialists in areas such as literacy, numeracy, and inclusive education. Further study at the doctoral level is also a pathway.
Graduates will be able to reflect critically on educational theory, policy and research; apply advanced content and pedagogical knowledge; design and differentiate curriculum for diverse learners; integrate digital and design technologies; apply classroom management approaches; design and implement formative, summative and diagnostic assessment strategies; interpret student achievement data; evaluate their own teaching practice against professional standards; understand legislative and policy requirements; maintain inclusive and ethical relationships with colleagues, families and the community; and apply research principles to a capstone teacher practitioner inquiry.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
