Common Questions
You will complete 60 days of professional experience (PEX), including the option to complete one PEX in a rural or remote area of NSW. Professional experience immersion programs begin within the first month of the degree and continue in weekly blocks throughout, totalling approximately 420 hours (at 35 hours per week) across at least two different schools.
Yes, this degree is accredited and recognised as a national professional teaching qualification. However, students seeking work outside NSW or Australia are advised to check with potential employers and other teacher registration authorities for any additional requirements.
A valid IELTS score is required if your degree was not completed in English in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, or the Republic of Ireland. All UOW courses are taught in English and require varying levels of proficiency. Accepted international test results include IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge, and OET for specific health-related courses. Alternatively, you can fulfil the requirement by completing an English course at UOW College.
The indicative full-fee paying course fee is $51,758 (2026), with a session fee of $12,940. In 2026, domestic students may be eligible for either a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) or a UOW-subsidised fee reduction of up to 75% off the fees listed. Fees are subject to change and will be confirmed at the time of offer.
During your study you will explore the concepts of teaching and learning to build your professional skills in the key learning areas for primary schools: English, mathematics, science and technology, creative arts, personal development, health and physical education, and human society and its environment (history and geography).

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
