Common Questions
Yes. The Master of Teaching (Primary) is accredited by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) using the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. This means that these qualifications will be accepted for school teacher registration in Victoria and all other Australian states and territories.
Admission into this course requires you already hold a bachelor's degree in a discipline separate from education. All applicants must meet Eastern's General Entry Requirements, complete an interview, sit the Casper test two weeks before their interview, meet English language requirements, and complete a Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to commencing professional experience.
Students must complete 2 units in one of the following specialisations: Specialisation 1 (English Focus) or Specialisation 2 (Mathematics Focus). The English Focus includes Primary Literacy (ES916) and Primary Specialist: English (ES918), while the Mathematics Focus includes Primary Numeracy (ES917) and Primary Specialist: Mathematics (ES919).
Students must complete the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) as part of their studies. LANTITE should be attempted in the first year of your studies, and must be completed before your final placement. Recognition of First Nations language proficiency by the relevant cultural authority or a formal qualification in an Australian First Nations language is an acceptable alternative standard in lieu of all LANTITE requirements.
The Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) provides eligible students with $331.65 per week from 1 July 2025 to help cover the costs of mandatory placements. Education students at Eastern College Australia may qualify for this support during their teaching rounds.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
