You will gain up to 80 days of supervised professional experience across three different schools. During each Professional Experience (PE) block, you'll be fully immersed in classroom teaching five days a week, supported by UNSW School of Education staff and expert site-based mentors. Specifically, EDST6760 involves 5 days a week for 4 weeks, and EDST6765 involves 5 days a week for 9 weeks.
Yes, the program is accredited by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). Graduates earn accreditation with NESA and are ready to teach across secondary schools in Australia and beyond. The UNSW School of Education is also a provider of professional development and training for NESA.
Applicants need a recognised three-year Bachelor degree that meets the prerequisites for their selected teaching methods/specialisations, a minimum WAM of 60/100 (or equivalent), and must submit a personal statement equivalent to the UAC Teaching Questionnaire. All students are required to qualify in two teaching areas — either one double teaching area or one first and one additional area.
Yes, Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) are available for domestic students. The 2026 indicative CSP first year fee is $4,500 and the indicative CSP fee to complete the degree is $9,500. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
