Common Questions
The Personal Statement is part of the application process and provides an opportunity for you to share your passion and motivations for pursuing teaching, as well as experiences that have prepared you for this pursuit. It requires you to address five criteria: two of which are Inherent Requirements for the course, and three that reflect knowledge, skills and abilities that are important for future teachers.
You must address five criteria: (1) Communication and relational capabilities — demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in English and the ability to build respectful relationships; (2) Self-awareness and self-management — show self-awareness and the ability to regulate your emotions and behaviour; (3) Motivation to teach — explain why you want to be a teacher and what you can bring to the profession; (4) Willingness to learn — demonstrate your willingness to learn and act on feedback; and (5) Organisational and planning skills — showcase your ability to make and execute plans effectively.
Yes. If you are a Secondary Teaching applicant who completed your degree five or more years ago, you must also address a sixth criterion — Up to date discipline knowledge — explaining how you have kept up to date in the field in which you plan to work. This response should be no longer than 250 words.
No. The use of any form of artificial intelligence (AI) is strictly prohibited in the completion of your Personal Statement.
Each of the five required responses should be between 200–300 words. Responses must be written in sentences and paragraphs using professional language with accurate grammar and punctuation; dot points are not acceptable.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
