Master of Tourism, Events and Hospitality Management

The Master of Tourism, Events and Hospitality Management explores the professional challenges and opportunities across the tourism, events and hospitality industry. The program is broad and future-focused, built both to boost the prospects of working professionals and to help newcomers enter the sector.
You build the contemporary management skills needed to lead operations and meet business goals, taking courses on sustainable tourism, destination management, festival management, and how to leave a lasting legacy with your events. Digital innovation, data analytics and marketing are covered, along with how to cater to diverse audiences in a globalised industry.
The degree is hands-on and industry-engaged, delivered in South Australia — the "Festival State" — so it intersects with the festivals and events held through the year. You work on industry-based projects, designing, conducting and analysing research in collaboration with industry partners, and learn to lead teams, make decisions under pressure and deliver high-quality, tailored experiences.
Experiential learning includes a placement and developing, planning and delivering an actual event, and you explore the visitor economy including emerging digital innovations.
The program totals 96 units — 78 units of core courses, 6 units of work integrated learning and 12 units of electives — over two years at the Adelaide City Campus, with February and July intakes.
