About This Course

The Master of Urban and Regional Planning offers a broad, deep understanding of planning's past and present, and asks you to speculate about its future, in a complex interdisciplinary field.
You study a range of topics as they concern the profession — history, policy, finance, ethics, climate and society — and learn the policies and regulations that guide residential and commercial development.
The degree develops your professional conduct, teaching you how to make a captivating proposal, judge a development project's feasibility, and help residents and developers reach outcomes that balance competing interests.
Fieldwork has you inspect regenerated urban spaces and assess locations for potential development, and you contribute to the discipline's body of knowledge through your own original research project.
Adelaide University frames the profession around designing cities that support ecosystem function and biodiversity, preparing human settlements for climate change, and protecting heritage sites.
