About This Course

The program is designed to equip students with the necessary digital, information, and academic literacies, as well as the numeracy skills required for postgraduate studies in Australia. On successful completion of this program, students will be able to articulate into a range of Macquarie University Masters courses in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

On successful completion you will be able to:

Apply critical thinking skills to a range of information technology context for postgraduate studies.
Describe fundamental concepts, terminology, and principles and acquire relevant ICT skills for postgraduate studies.
Demonstrate awareness of academic integrity for postgraduate studies in Australia.
Demonstrate oral and written communication skills appropriate for postgraduate studies in information technology.
Apply problem-solving skills to existing and/or emerging challenges in information technology.
Collaborate effectively and work in diverse teams in a way that is culturally respectful and ethical.

General Requirements

Domestic students:

Completion of a Year 12 senior secondary qualification (HSC or equivalent) AND a 2-4 year full-time post-secondary qualification from a recognised institution assessed at Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree level (AQF 6) on the Australian Qualifications Framework.
OR
Completion of a 2-year full-time overseas Bachelor degree from a recognised institution assessed at Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree level (AQF 6) on the Australian Qualifications Framework.
In addition to the criteria listed above, admission to the Masters Qualifying Program articulating to the following Masters requires prior study in a related field:
Master of Information Systems Management
Master of Information Technology in Artificial Intelligence
Master of Information Technology in Cyber Security
Master of Information Technology in Internet of Things
Master of Information Technology in Networking

International students:
