This course specifically prepares students for the Pearson Test of English (PTE) at Level 1 (B1) Examination.
The course runs for 39 weeks in total, with 200 hours of structured teaching taking place over 19 weeks (there are 20 weeks of scheduled breaks). Students attend 20 hours of face-to-face classes per week and are expected to complete a minimum of 5 hours of personal or group study per week.
The PTE course is made up of 10 units of study, each delivered over a week. It teaches reading, writing, listening and speaking skills which are necessary for the exam, how to approach each exam task, as well as essential grammar and vocabulary.
There are no specific educational pre-requisites; entry is based on assessment of English language proficiency, though most students will have completed Year 10 or equivalent. Applicants must also have an IELTS score of 5.0 or above and be 18 years of age or older.
The course is delivered in classroom mode across three campus locations: Brisbane (Level 2, 108 Margaret Street, Brisbane City, QLD 4000), Melbourne (Level 1, 255 William Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000), and Sydney (Level 8, 532-540 George Street, Sydney, NSW 2000).
