The PTE-Academic Test Preparation course is offered at two levels: Upper Intermediate (CEFR B2, PTE-A score range 59–75, IELTS equivalent 5.5–6.0) and Advanced (CEFR C1, PTE-A score range 76–84, IELTS equivalent 6.5–7.0).
The course is designed to develop your listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities, with a focus on test-taking strategies and techniques. It also includes practice on a computer interface to simulate actual test conditions, and covers vocabulary building, grammar focus (academic style), essay writing, integrated tasks, and mini mock tests.
Students wishing to commence the PTE-Academic Test Preparation at Upper Intermediate Entry need to achieve an Upper Intermediate level of English on York Business Institute's placement test. Alternatively, students would need to provide evidence that their English is at a PTE-A score of 59–75 or an IELTS score of 5.5–6.0 (or equivalent) prior to being accepted on the course. Students must also be at least 16 years of age.
The PTE-Academic Test Preparation course has a maximum class size of 18 students and involves 20 contact hours per week.
After completing the Upper Intermediate level, students may progress to VET Education or Foundation Studies. After completing the Advanced level, students may be eligible for Higher Education, subject to individual course entry requirements. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
