Common Questions
Students in The Cove (Years 5 and 6) experience a secondary-style model of education, learning from dedicated specialist educators across all subjects — for example, they learn Mathematics from a mathematician and Science from a scientist. All subjects are taught by specialist teachers in specialist classrooms, allowing students to delve more deeply into their learning than is possible in a traditional primary classroom.
Standing strong as the backbone of the program is a carefully curated pastoral program driven by an experienced team of mentors. Students develop a close connection to their mentors, who coach them in the development of skills in self-management, social-emotional domains and learning that empower them in life. The homeroom mentoring in Years 5 and 6 is nurturing and gives students the confidence to try new things, while academic support considers individual student needs.
Year 5 students experience Camp Ibis for the first time, where they are encouraged to step outside their comfort zone and form lasting connections with peers, sowing the seeds of belonging to community and place. Year 6 students embark on a week-long adventure to Canberra to witness their Humanities learning in action, stretching their independence and resilience as learners and global citizens.
The plethora of co-curricular and enrichment opportunities extend in every direction possible. Whether it be Sport, Music, Theatre, Drama, Social Action, Debating or House Events, these activities complement the diverse academic and pastoral programs, providing great enjoyment for students. Students also have the opportunity for real life experiences in formal leadership roles, engagement with expert guest speakers, and exploration of spirituality and core values in chapels and assemblies.
At the completion of the stimulating two-year program, students journey to Middle School armed with critical skills, knowledge and support structures to successfully navigate the adolescent years with courage and resilience. The program builds in students the learning dispositions, confidence and critical thinking skills they will need to embrace their future, and students develop a sense of independence which allows for a smooth transition into secondary school.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
