As a Study Abroad student, you have the option of choosing the standard 4 course (full time) Study Abroad program, or the 3 course program offered in limited intake. Incoming Exchange students can choose either 3 or 4 courses. The 3 course option will allow you more time to take on extracurricular activities, career development opportunities or internships.
UQ offers more than 3,500 courses, which may offer theoretical or practical components unique to UQ. Courses range from Australian topics or offer field trips to fascinating locations in South East Queensland, while others promote group project work or research.
UQ offers extensive academic and personal support to help you make the most of your time here, along with a great mix of extracurricular activities such as sport, live performances, exhibitions and a choice of more than 200 student clubs and societies. UQ will also help you settle into Australia and enjoy the best possible study experience.
For Semester 1 2027, Orientation Week runs 15–19 February, with classes starting 22 February and ending 28 May. The examination period runs 5–19 June. For Semester 2 2027, Orientation Week runs 19–23 July, with classes starting 26 July and ending 29 October. The examination period runs 6–20 November.
Yes. UQ partners with universities worldwide for exchange, and if your university isn't a partner, you can apply through the Study Abroad program. You can check if your university is a UQ exchange partner on the UQ website.
