About This Course

Learn English with a focus on preparation for further studies while you develop a range of language skills and learning strategies. Students who finish the program with Upper Intermediate English can choose to go directly into a Diploma program or continue on to study Unipath 2. The core skills of reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar are integrated into your course. Your self-study program allows you to consolidate and practice your skills every week. A continuous weekly assessment model and individual feedback allows you to follow your progress.

General Requirements

Students are required to be at least 17 years of age to commence study in English Language programs at Sarina Russo Institute.
Unipath 1 Upper Intermediate (10 weeks): IELTS 5.0 (no sub score below 5.0) | Pearson PTE Academic 36 | TOEFL iBT 60 (minimum score of 13) | TOEFL Paper 500+ | Cambridge FCE (Grade C, score 60+) or CAE (below level B2, score 41+) | CEFR B2
Unipath 1 Intermediate (10 weeks): IELTS 4.5 (no sub score below 4.0) | Pearson PTE Academic 30 | TOEFL iBT 45 (minimum score of 11) | TOEFL Paper 400+ | Cambridge FCE (below B1, score 45+) or PET (Grade C+) | CEFR B1
IELTS General Training will also be accepted for entry into SRI English courses.
Results more than two years old will not be accepted.
The SRI placement test will need to be undertaken.

What levels of English are covered in Unipath English 1?

Unipath English 1 covers two levels: 10 weeks of Intermediate English and 10 weeks of Upper Intermediate English, for a total program duration of 10 to 20 weeks.

What are the fees for Unipath English 1?

The tuition fee is $360 AUD per week. Additional fees include a non-refundable Acceptance of Enrolment Fee of AU$250, Learning Materials at AU$15 per week, a Course Deposit (on application), Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC provided by Allianz, pricing subject to student's specific circumstances), and a Re-issuance of Certificate or Statement of Attainment fee of $25 per page. These fees are effective as of 29 January 2025.

What is the class timetable for Unipath English 1?

Classes run Monday to Friday with two 2-hour class sessions: 8:30am–10:30am and 11:00am–1:00pm. Additional sessions include a 1-hour Free Speaking Class on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (1:30pm–2:30pm), and a Grammar/Homework Help Workshop on Thursday (1:30pm–2:30pm), plus free support classes of 1 hour. Please note class times can be scheduled anywhere between 8:30am and 7:30pm, and students are responsible for checking their own timetable on the Student Portal each week.

What happens after I complete Unipath English 1?

Students who finish the program with Upper Intermediate English can choose to go directly into a Diploma program or continue on to study Unipath English 2.

Are there any free extras included for Unipath English 1 students?

Yes, all Unipath English students receive FREE Elective and Events. Students can check the calendar for available activities. There are also free support classes (1 hour) and a free speaking class included in the weekly timetable.
