Common Questions
UMELBP is the University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program — a 10-week English course that develops English language skills through participation in a range of authentic academic tasks.
UMELBP starts four times a year: February, May, July and November. See the course calendar for exact dates.
An IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result is required for entry — for courses requiring IELTS 6.5 (no band under 6.0), you generally need an IELTS score of around 6.0 (no band under 5.5) or equivalent. Exact requirements vary by University of Melbourne faculty and course.
Depending on your enrolment conditions, you may be able to transfer to Intensive Academic Preparation (IAP) instead.
You can meet the English requirement directly through an official IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result, or explore packaged offer options with the university.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
