The course is delivered over a period of 78 weeks, equating to 54 contact study weeks plus 24 weeks for holidays.
Entry is limited to those who have completed either BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management or BSB51415 Diploma of Project Management (or a superseded equivalent version), or have completed two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level within a project or program environment. Additionally, applicants must be 18 years of age or over, have satisfactorily completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent, and have an English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or complete and pass the HIA English Assessment.
The course is delivered on a blended basis at 20 hours per week, comprising 14 hours face to face in the classroom plus 6 hours of online study.
Assessment is competency based. Students are required to complete written and practical tasks, which reflect the requirements of the units of competency and current workplace practices. Assessment is continuous throughout the duration of the course. Students are provided with a Student Assessment Booklet at the commencement of each unit of competency, which sets out the range and types of assessments that will be used for that unit.
Graduates will be able to seek employment in roles such as Senior Project Manager, using initiative and judgement to direct, plan, and lead a range of program functions. Graduates may also undertake further study such as a Bachelor program in the same field.
