Advanced Diploma of Program Management

The BSB60720 Advanced Diploma of Program Management is a nationally accredited VET qualification delivered by The Business School Pty Ltd (TBS) at its Campsie campus in Sydney, NSW, designed for individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in program management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. It reflects the role of a Program Manager, who uses initiative and judgement to direct, plan and lead a range of program functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters, alongside strong cognitive, communication and conceptual skills to analyse information and respond to complex problems. To be awarded the qualification, students must demonstrate competency in 4 core units and 8 elective units (12 units total), covering areas such as enabling program execution, facilitating stakeholder engagement, implementing program governance, managing benefits, managing organisational finances, leading organisational change, developing emotional intelligence and managing program risk. Both domestic and international students undertake the course as face-to-face, classroom-based training at TBS's Campsie campus, supported by the school's Learning Management System (LMS) for units of competency, learning materials and assessment resources, over a period of 74 weeks (6 terms), including 14 weeks of holiday, with a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week. Assessment methods include direct observation in classroom and simulated workplace settings, product-based methods such as reports, portfolios and written assignments, and written and verbal questioning. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), credit transfer and national recognition may also be available, with a course entry interview conducted with each student before enrolment to confirm suitability. Entry typically follows completion of the BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management (or equivalent) or two years of relevant workplace experience in a project or program environment. On successful completion, students can pursue further study pathways such as the BSB80220 Graduate Diploma of Portfolio Management or BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning), or progress into a range of program and project management roles.
