Advanced Diploma of Program Management

The Advanced Diploma of Program Management (BSB60720) at HJ Australian Institute reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in program management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. The job roles that relate to this qualification include Program Manager. Individuals in these roles are responsible for managing or directing a program to achieve organisational objectives, where a program is defined as a set of interrelated projects, each of which has a project manager. Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to direct, plan, and lead a range of program functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters, and they use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others.

The qualification runs for a total of 52 weeks — 44 weeks of tuition plus 8 weeks of scheduled breaks — and is delivered face to face at HJ Australian Institute's Hobart campus in Tasmania, with rolling intakes throughout the year. Students complete 12 units of competency: 4 core units in program execution, governance and benefits, plus 8 electives spanning innovation, organisational change, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, knowledge management, program risk, leadership and project scope, and it can also be taken as a 104-week package with the Diploma of Project Management. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. On successful completion of all required units, students are issued with the Advanced Diploma in Program Management (BSB60720) and an academic transcript within 30 calendar days; students who complete individual units but not the full qualification receive a Statement of Attainment.
