Domestic applicants need to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Assessment (LLND). International applicants need Year 12 completion or equivalent plus academic IELTS 6.0 overall (minimum 5.0 in each band), or an equivalent approved English test.
Fees vary depending on the units you enrol into. Domestic fees per semester are Concession $8,943, Subsidised $11,560, or Full Fee $32,544. International students pay AUD$22,070 in total across 2 semesters.
The course runs for 52 weeks full-time on campus at the Adelaide College of the Arts, incorporating the Diploma of Screen and Media (Animation, Gaming and Visual Effects) along the way.
Graduates are well placed for roles such as 3D Computer Animator, Compositor, Game Artist, Computer Animator in the simulation industry, and 3D modeller/texture artist across film, advertising and game development. The course also carries a guaranteed credit transfer agreement into the Bachelor of Visual Effects, with 72 credited units.
The qualification comprises 4 core units and 12 elective units, covering skills such as compositing for 3-D and digital effects environments, game and simulation modelling and texturing, lighting design, colour correction and editing complex media productions.
