Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining

WMIT's Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining (CPC31220) is a nationally recognised VET qualification that equips students with practical, job-ready trade skills in wall and ceiling lining for residential and commercial construction. Also known as a fibrous plastering course, it covers the specialist skills required to apply and fix linings to non-structural walls and ceilings — a core trade in modern construction finishing. The course is delivered as classroom-based, face-to-face training at WMIT's Melbourne CBD campus over 52 weeks and is CRICOS-registered under code 119740J, open to international students on a Student Visa.

Across 29 units of competency (22 core and 7 electives), students gain hands-on training under industry-experienced trainers, including the mandatory general construction induction unit required for anyone carrying out construction work in Australia. The qualification is also recognised as a suitable Australian apprenticeship pathway, giving students flexibility in how they complete their training.

Graduates are prepared for roles including Wall and Ceiling Liner, Drywaller and Plasterer, in one of Australia's most in-demand skilled construction trades. On completion, students may progress to WMIT's Certificate IV in Building and Construction or an equivalent qualification.
