Common Questions
Prior to commencing this qualification, individuals must have completed the following units of competency (or equivalent): AHCCHM304 Transport and store chemicals, AHCCHM307 Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases, AHCPCM308 Identify and select plants, AHCPMG301 Control weeds, AHCPMG302 Control plant pests, diseases and disorders, AHCSOL304 Implement soil improvements for garden and turf areas, and AHCWHS302 Contribute to workplace health and safety processes.
The course runs for 52 weeks at 20 hours per week. Participants will attend four sessions per week, which remain constant throughout the course.
Yes, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is possible for formal training, informal training, and past experience. During your course, you will also be required to sit a range of practical and written assessments.
International students must have an IELTS score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, or completing at least 12 months of a Certificate IV level course in an Australian RTO. Other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can also be accepted, provided students supply results confirming they are equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
Students must comply with the Work Health and Safety Act and wear minimum protective equipment including: protective footwear complying with AS2210 safety standards, neat casual clothing and a broad-brimmed hat, ear muffs/plugs and non-fogging safety glasses, and sunglasses, sunscreen, and a water bottle (standard WHS requirement for outdoor practicals).
