Applicants need to provide evidence of an IELTS overall score of 6.0, with a minimum score of 5.5 for Writing and 6.0 for Listening. Students who do not meet this requirement will be given a Provisional Letter of Offer and will need to enrol in a suitable English language course prior to commencing studies at AIE. Certain categories of students are exempt, including citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland, and those who have completed at least five years' study in Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland.
Yes. As part of your entry into the course, AIE will conduct an interview with a teacher to assess your suitability for the course including any specific requirements you may have. At the interview, they will look at your portfolio to see what knowledge and skills you are bringing into the course. You can visit AIE's interview and portfolio requirements page for more information about the interview process and what they are looking for in a portfolio.
Applicants must be 18 years or more years old when they commence their course with AIE. AIE does not accept enrolments from overseas students under the age of 18.
Yes. Students with existing skills or experience can apply for Direct Entry and may be eligible for credit and/or advanced standing into the second year of study.
Yes. In addition to tuition fees, there may be additional resources students need to purchase including textbooks, stationery, hardware, software and other material and equipment. Students are encouraged to contact AIE for further information. International students are also required to take out Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) before being issued with a Student Visa; AIE's preferred provider is Australian Health Management (AHM).
