Graduate Certificate in Immersive Media Technologies

The Graduate Certificate in Immersive Media Technologies is a six-month program, also available part time, that builds your understanding of the immersive media industry across both its creative aspects and its technical foundations.
You are introduced to the fundamental principles and practices of immersive media and complete two core courses that ground your skills and understanding in the field, then put that learning into practice by developing an applied project plan.
Along the way you discover the different types of immersive media technology platforms, develop foundational media skills, study design principles and build technical knowledge, including basic technical skills for creating digital assets and a broader understanding of design theory and game-engine capabilities.
The certificate also covers the global immersive media industry and its business trends, ethical considerations and challenges in the field, and the importance of ergonomics and human-computer interface design.
Teaching is by academics with links to industry, and the program is framed around the spread of immersive media from games into education and healthcare, preparing you for roles such as game designer or VR developer.
The program is 24 units of core courses, taken full time over half a year at the Adelaide City Campus, with a February intake.
