Master of Architecture

The Master of Architecture equips you with advanced expertise in architectural design and its relationship with the environment, culture, and advances in design and construction technologies.
You develop technical and creative skills across advanced contemporary architecture courses that foster collaborative and innovative research practice, and build competence in architectural communication, simulation and generative technologies.
Core courses cover design research processes and approaches to working effectively with culturally diverse communities, broadening your knowledge of architectural practice across different environments. You also engage with social, cultural, economic, technological and environmental processes in studio-based workshops.
Electives let you focus on areas such as sustainable design, project and construction management, design construct projects, or broaden into career development and design communication, and the degree allows you to develop advanced knowledge in a specialised area aligned with your ambitions.
Learning takes place in purpose-designed facilities including dedicated design studios and workshops, where you engage with industry professionals and real clients on solutions to real-world challenges, taught by internationally recognised academics and industry leaders.
The degree can also lead to higher degrees by research. It totals 96 units — 84 units of core courses, up to 6 units of work integrated learning and 6 to 12 units of electives — over two years at the Adelaide City Campus.
