About This Course

The Master of Clinical Audiology (MClinAudiology) is a two year postgraduate course located within the Department of Linguistics at Macquarie University. It is a unique offering in NSW with only six other professionally accredited programs existing in Australia (Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory). Our location, within the Australian Hearing Hub offers our students the unique ability to interact with a wide variety of hearing researchers (Cochlear and National Acoustics Laboratories), hearing care service providers like the Next Sense, Shepherd Centre and other allied health partners (such as speech pathologists, teachers of the Deaf, and early intervention specialists).

The Macquarie University Master of Clinical Audiology course aims to provide our students with the skills, knowledge and training they need to practice as a qualified clinical audiologist. The course prepares students for the assessment, rehabilitation, and habilitation of populations with hearing impairment, as well as training in research studies' design. Our Macquarie University audiology graduates will be competent practitioners with strong scholarly, social, and professional abilities and highly employable, capable of engaging across disciplines, with diverse local and global communities.

Graduates will be eligible to work as an audiologist.
Graduates will be eligible for full membership of the professional body Audiology Australia, and will be eligible to begin their clinical internship (as a requirement for their certificate of clinical practice).
Graduates will demonstrate advanced clinical skills and will be well prepared to pursue a career as an audiologist in a range of settings: private and public diagnostic and rehabilitation centres and hospitals in metropolitan, remote and regional areas; and across the entire age range-from infants to the elderly.
Currently, there is a demand for audiologists across Australia and internationally.
