About This Course

Our two-year Master of Clinical Audiology degree provides you with the skills and knowledge to assess, and provide rehabilitation for, the hearing and balance systems across the lifespan. Receive specialist training in First Nations ear and hearing health, and be equipped to work in regional, rural, and remote locations across Australia. During our Master of Clinical Audiology degree, you will be required to attend compulsory clinical placements in various health contexts with adults, children, and families. The course also includes four blocks of 5-day face-to-face compulsory teaching intensives, including work integrated learning and practical experience, at the Casuarina Campus. Interstate travel may be required to meet your clinical hour requirements. We recognise that you may bring different skills and life experiences, and we welcome a range of backgrounds. There are flexible study options, including part-time, online and face-to-face learning to support you in completing your studies whilst maintaining additional commitments. Our Master of Clinical Audiology degree offers international study opportunities and welcomes both First Nations and international students with dedicated support services on hand to support you through your degree.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree or equivalent international qualification with at least a pass average (GPA of 4.00).
A national and/or international Police check and a current Working with Children check is required regarding suitability to undertake placements.
The majority of health facilities will require students to present a complete immunisation schedule, and a First Aid certificate.
Domestic English Language Requirements (one of the following):
- Successful completion of Year 12 within Australia, or an equivalent qualification from an approved country where English is the official language.
- Successful completion of at least 0.5 FTE of higher education study from Australia or an approved country where English is the official language.
- Successful completion of a Charles Darwin University enabling program of at least 0.5 FTE (40 credit points).
- Successful completion of a recognised TAFE qualification at a Certificate III level or higher from Australia.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Division 1 or Division 2 nurse.
- IELTS Academic: Overall minimum 6.5, no band below 6.0.
- Cambridge English Advanced (CAE): Overall minimum 176, no skill below 169.
- PTE Academic: Overall minimum 58, no score below 50.
- TOEFL iBT: Overall minimum 79, minimum writing score 21.
International English Language Requirements (one of the following):
- IELTS Academic Module: A minimum overall score of 7.0 with no band less than 6.5.
- Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): A minimum overall score of 176, with no skill below 169.
- Common European Framework Certificate of English Proficiency: A minimum overall grade of C1, valid for three years.
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: A minimum overall score of 65 with no score lower than 58.
- TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): A minimum overall score of 79 with a minimum writing score of 21.
There is no restriction on places for domestic students. This course accepts a limited number of international students each year; meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee a place.

Is the Master of Clinical Audiology accredited by a professional body?

Yes. The Master of Clinical Audiology delivered from CDU Casuarina campus is accredited by Audiology Australia. Graduates of this course may apply for membership with Audiology Australia.

How many clinical placement days are required during the course?

You will complete a minimum of 50 days of clinical placement — 10 days in Year 1, Semester 2; 20 days in Year 2, Semester 1; and 20 days in Year 2, Semester 2. Interstate travel may be required to meet your clinical hour requirements.

Are there compulsory face-to-face components for this course?

Yes. The course includes four blocks of 5-day face-to-face compulsory teaching intensives at the Casuarina Campus. These cover units including AUD501 and AUD502 (Block 1); AUD503, AUD504, AUD505 and AUD511 (Block 2); AUD515 and AUD514 (Block 3); and AUD523 and AUD524 (Block 4).

What are the annual tuition fees for international students?

The annual tuition fee for full-time international study in 2026 is AUD $34,736.00, which equates to $4,342.00 per 10 credit point unit (0.125 EFTSL). These fees are subject to increases annually, effective at the start of each calendar year.

Can I study the Master of Clinical Audiology part-time?

Yes. The course offers flexible study options including part-time study over 3 or 4 years. A recommended part-time study plan is available for students who need to balance study with work, personal, financial, or other commitments.
