The course features specialist studio units that replicate working media newsrooms and production houses, where you'll make news and entertainment shows while working to industry deadlines with a focus on live delivery. There is also an optional Media Production Internship (NEM6130) requiring completion of 175 hours of placement in an approved professional work environment.
For domestic students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $23,400. For international students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $37,700.
Yes. Eligible applicants may use their Bachelor, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma studies as the basis for up to 60 credit points of Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning (CRPL). This applies if you have a Bachelor degree or major in a related discipline, a Bachelor degree with relevant coursework plus two years relevant work experience, or a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Broadcasting (or equivalent). All applications are assessed individually.
The Masters includes management skills delivered through the lens of the media industry, covering the psychology of decision making, unconscious bias, data analytics, audience dynamics and understanding consumer behaviour.
International applicants must meet English Language requirements (Band 4), which can be satisfied through an IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 with no individual band less than 6.0, a Bachelor degree from a country specified on the English Proficiency Bands page, successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider, at least five years relevant professional experience (where accepted), or other tests, courses or programs defined on the English Proficiency Bands page.
