Common Questions
The MQP is available to international students only — it is not currently available to Australian students. It is designed for students who already have a tertiary qualification but who do not qualify for direct entry into a Master's degree at Curtin University.
The MQP takes 6 months to complete, consisting of 4 units studied over 1 semester. Intakes are available in February and July each year.
Students must complete 3 core units and 1 elective. The 3 core units are Academic Communication for Postgraduate Studies, Intercultural Perspectives for Postgraduate Studies, and Research Skills for Postgraduate Studies. The elective is either Project Management for Postgraduates (required for most Master of Commerce, Arts, and Health programs) or Fundamentals of Analytical Programming (required for Master of Computing, Master of Predictive Analytics, and Master of Science in Agriculture and Food Security).
Upon completing the MQP, students can progress to a wide range of Curtin University Master's degrees across Business and Law (e.g. Master of Commerce in various majors, Master of Professional Accounting, Master of Information Systems and Technology, Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship), Health Sciences (e.g. Master of Health Administration, Master of Public Health, Master of Sexology), Humanities (e.g. Master of Arts, Master of Project Management, Master of TESOL), and Science and Engineering (e.g. Master of Computing, Master of Predictive Analytics, Master of Science in Agriculture and Food Security). Programs marked with an asterisk provide a direct pathway without unit exemptions.
Yes, the MQP includes a dedicated Academic Success Program which provides two hours per week of support at no additional cost. This program aims to develop academic skills and language proficiency required to participate fully and succeed in the MQP, focusing on identifying and understanding academic demands and conventions in completing assignments.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
